Reviewed from notes.

Pours a light to medium brown color with a bit of head. Nose brigs really light malt and some nutty characteristics. A bit of dry grain. None of the off flavors others have discussed, though I had this significantly later in time than the last reviewer. Taste is light and plain, though not bad. Light feel and is decent enough all around.

Deep copper-reddish color. Clear with a fine bright white head that quickly settles to a thin cap.

Iron leads the way on the nose (don't think I've written THAT in a beer review before . . .), followed by a slight toffee note, a bit of candied cherry and some brown bread. Its in the Alt ball park, but certainly neither a traditional offering, nor a compelling alternative expression.

Light side of medium in the mouth. Decent malt of the bready, yeasty variety provides the base for an odd cherry note and some harsh, clashing metallic components. As odd as it sounds, its not too bad, and vaguely Altbier-ish. Certainly potable, but hardly good. Carb level too high for me as well.

Oh jeez this brewery is misguided. There's little indication of what is to cross your buds by sniffing this beer, it's decent on the nose in fact. A little caramel nut citrus pastry thing. Then a sip hits you with sour rubber and there can be only one sip as this brew is going to feed the fishes. Poor fishes.

Pours out to a sparkingly clear ruby red caramel, forming a rocky and sticky yellow head with excellent retention and clumpy lacing. Carbonation is moderate. Yeast sediment in the bottle. Aroma is interesting..and kinda scary....touches of kiwi fruit and sour aluminum like Reaper BC and Great Divide BC, but no, this is a different kind of twang...layers of very perfumy hops and caramel, a nice touch of funky sourness, amber malts....I actually like it. Carbonation is moderate. Mouthfeel...sharp and tangy with medium body. Taste....This is where things get all fucked up. Sour?! What gives? A sour Alt? Tastes of citric and phosphoric acid, aluminum, alcohol, lemon pith bitterness, bile and acid reflux, intensified metallic bitterness clinging on desperately to distant suggestions of roasted barley and grain husk. The parotid glands pucker and I'm sucking on an Alum lollipop.

I can't take it anymore. It has to go down the sink. Perhaps it's a useful cleanser or toilet bowl brightner? This beer is a totally infected Petri dish mistake. Stay away at all cost. Old Shat indeed.

This beer poured a golden orange color with a small to medium fizzy white head. The smell is nice enough at first with a citrusy hit combined with a German malt influence but then there seems to be a strong nasty horse piss-on-hay scent in there. The taste began fine, a little light tasting maltiness but then a really sour yeast flavor comes it. It was very similar to some old Bell's beers that I recently had. I can't get past that sour yeast aspect and this beer becomes very hard to finish.

edit: I tried this again and the bottle is definitely infected do not buy this beer in the bottle! apparently it's really good at their brewpub though.
