Had a couple samples at the brewery.
A- Pours a medium shade of brown. Light goes straight through this bad boy. Little tannish head on this one dies almost as soon as it gets there. No real staying lacing on the glass...streaky but falls back into the glass.
S- Light roasted malts but with most of their beers very muted. No real other aromas besides a light grainy smell. Some light coffee in there as well.
T- Once again the flavors are pretty muted but still the flavors I picked up on were roasted malts, some light grainy flavors, piney hops toward the end, coffee and chocolate notes.
M- Medium light mouthfeel. Carbonation is alright for the style. Roasted malts left on the palate and more roasted malts left in the aftertaste. Flavors were muted and watery. Nothing really stuck out flavorwise.
D- This was a watery stout that gave any BMC stouts a run for their money. I personally think the beers at Old Hat need to be given a makeover to make their beers more personable and less mass appeal friendly.
