A: hazy; deep caramel in color; 1 finger finely pored tan head that receded to a thin, tight collar; very nice, long lasting lacing;
S: sweet with a hint of spice; golden delicious apple; a touch of peppermint; a little dried fruit;
T: sweet with a hint of spice up front; juniper in the middle; finish is golden delicious apple; mild to moderate bitterness at the end;
M: medium bodied; moderate carbonation; moderately dry finish; hides the ABV well;
O: I think what I perceived as golden delicious apple was the result of the BBA; other than that, it didn't have any character from the oak aging;

Sampling a 16 oz can at cellar temp and pouring into my snifter. No date stamp on the can unfortunately.
The beer pours a clear mahogany color with some ruby highlights on the edges of the glass.
A soft fluffy beige head foams up , even with a gentle pour. This foam almost overtops the glass and keeps me from emptying the entire can into my snifter.
Aroma is malt forward with toffee and caramel and a bit of light fruit , plums I believe. I do get what I am detecting as cinnamon, none mentioned on the label. Not really any hop character here.
First sip reveals a medium body and smooth texture with fine and tingly carbonation. The physical traits drink pretty easy for a bigger beer.
Flavor is similar to the nose, but with a few additional flavors. The caramel and toffee are up front, then moves to some plum and apple notes. I also get a bit of a butterscotchy flavor. Diacetyl, maybe? There is a dry black peppery bite on the finish, which I attribute to booze. Hops dont really show up anywhere. The peppery bite does linger and my palate does dry out after each sip. This is a fine beer, but Im worried that the butterscotch is diacetyl infection as it is also a little tart now that the beer is warming. Oh well. new beer from a new brewery to me in my State of Connecticut. Glad I tried it, but would pass on the next can if I see it again.
