on draft at the brewery, also then drank a 6 pack of 12 oz cans
pours black in color, with thick tan colored head. good head retention. Cocoa, toasty, in both the aroma and the taste.
good depth of flavor but still easy drinking. medium bodied, smooth feel.

Sampling a cellar temp 12 oz can poured into my .5L dimple mug. Been in my cellar since August , when I picked up some cans for a fantasy football draft in PA.
The beer pours a rich mahogany color with only a little light passing through my glass. A creamy khaki to beige colored head of about .5 cm foams up and fades to a sturdy surface covering that sticks around throughout the sampling. Some dense lattice clings when I swirl or take a sip from the glass.
Aroma is some toasted wheat bread and roasted malts with just a bit of caramel. There is a hint of herbal or black tea note, which I attribute to hops and no hint of the ABV.
First sip reveals a medium to light body with gentle carbonation. Smooth easy drinking texture.
Flavor is similar to the nose with toasted dark bread and some light caramel. but definitely not very sweet. Roasted malt edges up to charred note, but not quite and there is a bit of black tea bite , likely hops and then the beer dries out significantly after each swallow. The beer is very easy to drink and pretty straightforward as a beer that meets expectations for the style. Pretty solid offering from this small brewery.

Muddy dark brown with a super creamy tan foam head that leaves thick rings of lacing. Lightly toasty aroma with coco behind. The taste follows with the slightest hint of plum added to the mix. Just a touch lighter bodied and softer carbbed than expected. A top notch dark Czech lager.
