quality stout here, enjoyed at their alicante location, where they do not brew but have a neat little underground taproom and kitchen, real cool space. this is sort of an irish type, the malt fits and its dry as it says it is, even if i taste less of the irish ale yeast than i expect to in these. its roasty in the nose, near black in color, and has a nice creaminess to the texture without it being heavy. notes of very black coffee, maybe some oats in it too, dry cereal character, nothing sweet at all, a hint of licorice and black tea too, neat nuance to this but simple in its composition really. i like the bitterness over the sweetness, its earthy and well grounded, and there is the faintest note of smoke in here, toasted bread too, and charcoal. nice execution, the ferment is clean and complete, and overall this is drinkable for its color and of solid quality. nothing too ambitious on tap here it didnt seem, covering the basics not changing the world, but we liked the three beers we had really dug the space. good times!
