pretty classically styled here, none of the beer we had at their alicante outpost was particularly exciting, but all of it was in fact well made, and they seemed to have the basics covered pretty well. this is earthy and wheaty and distinct on the grain side with some minerals in the mix and a wetness to it, sets the yeast profile up so well, which has some amateur rough edges in an endearing way, green banana, clove, orange peel, toasted pine nut, pepper, its maybe a touch overextended but it works with this much grain beneath it and with all the body and fluffiness this has. slightly soapy at temperature, the yeast fades quick too, like more american wheat at times later on, just the grain almost without the ferment for a moment, and then a little bit of a citrus hop thing creeping in late. its yeasty for sure, but its all in decent balance and even though its not super summery it still has a drinkability to it. familiar but also foreign, hard to do, especially in a style like this. would have loved to see some crazy stuff on their menu, but they had the fundamentals offering just a little more than most, so our time was well spent here. cool hybrid type wheat here.
