well balanced american ipa here, all of the beers we had here were somewhat basic, but all were quite well executed. this has a little chill haze, a little malt color to it, a high white head nice and thick and lasting, and great carbonation. it smells pretty fresh, slightly nutty from the grain in front of piney and pithy citrus hop notes, well dosed, a little oily maybe, northwestern and woodsy to me, not real unique or anything, but nicely deployed in this. i get soime honey sweetness in the grain but its short lived as the almost flavorless yeast dries this right out and the hops kick in right past the midway point of this, slick and bitter, with pretty clean spruce and orange notes, some linger on the swallow but its fitting for the style, good proportions to this. really nothing to set it apart, other than to say the quality is there, which in this style isnt quite enough for me, nothing special or distinguishing, but it has a nice soft body, an obvious freshness, and some more bitterness than seems like is trendy anymore. cool place to visit here in alicante!
