Purchased at the source in February 2022. Drunk in November that year, but kept in a temperature-controlled fridge while it awaited my pleasure.
L: An extremely clear, bright yellow beer (it looks filtered but I'm pretty sure it's not) with a finger-high, fluffy white head. There's is vibrant, small-bubbled carbonation racing up the glass.
S: I'm being assailed by hayfever as I stick my nose into the glass, but get clear notes of what I thought at first was just yeast, but on further contemplation realised it is overripe peach and apricot - that fermenting fruit note was making me think of yeast.
T: Tasty is soft, sweet malts that are bready to the point of brioche. I recall another beer by this brewery with clear brioche notes to it. I wonder if it's grist or if I'm picking up the slightest notice of diacetyl. I'm going to assume it's the malt. There's a hint of piney hops at the back that leads to a dry, bracing finish.
M: Mouthfeel is smooth, with medium levels of carbonation. All is in order here.
O: This is a lovely, easy-drinking pale ale. There's nothing in here to challenge, and its flavour and aroma are firmly nailed to the mast. This actually puts me in mind of a brewery comfortable in its craft.
Cheers!
