Appearance - Fairly rich, deep dark amber body. Looks like a mix of old honey and varnish. Nutty brown with some reddish tones. Small, off-white head with little staying power and no lacing.
Smell - Aroma is slightly subdued. Lots of malt sweetness with dried dark fruits in the background.
Taste - Interesting blend of malt sweetness, light bittering hops and some flavor hops thrown in. Has a mild smokiness and tobacco flavor in the background too. Just the slightest hint of dark fruits in the aftertaste.
Mouthfeel - Full bodied with a good level of carbonation. Very wet on the lips.
D - Pretty decent.

Pint glass on tap at the La Jolla Brewhouse.
Poured a medium amberish-orange color wtih a small sized off whtie head. Somewhat cloudy. Aromas of caramel, somewhat fruity, and some hoppiness. Taste of the same fruitiness, caramel, and light citrus. Medium sweet with a lively body.
