Formerly named "Porter's Pardon".

With Badger's Rest, we have refashioned the English-style porter to include ingredients across it's 300 year history. Maris Otter and brown malt representing the historic base are paired with modern Phoenix hops. The result is a pleasant drinking beer that wafts of cocoa and light toasted malt while smoothly fading into hints of coffee, caramel, and bread that does justice to porter's broad heritage.

Appearance: A leathery dark brown with an off-white creamy head. Aroma: A sweet roasted malt aroma with notes of cocoa and slight pine. Body: A sweet malty medium body. Texture: Silky smooth. Finish: Clean finish with slight toasted malt.

Pours a frothy thick tan 1.5 finger head with great retention, soapy lacing, dark mahogany to molasses brown color with very little light coming through

Nose brings a lot of milk chocolate and vanilla, sweet hot cocoa, a touch of roast, mild baking spices, chocolate milk lactose possibly, some toasted bread crust and caramel

Taste starts with biscuity chocolate, cocoa, creamy chocolate milk, some roasted malt and a hint acrid char, some coffee, then mild caramel and bread crust again, some spicy bitterness from spicy hop notes and roasted stout-like malts, a hint of fruity note in the background, mild drier semi sweet sticky finish with big spicy bitterness lingering

Mouth is fuller bod, fair rich and creamy, med to a bit higher frothy carb, a little warming alcohol

Overall pretty good
