Golden Stag is adapted from a historic 1897 Fuller’s recipe popular with British ex-patriots in India. We pair floor malted Maris Otter malt with a lavish quantity of East Kent Goldings hops and ferment and condition under pressure for several weeks. The result is a refreshing beer with remarkable depth. Aging this beer will bring out the treacle and marmalade notes while the strong herbaceous bitterness will fade slightly to a gentle tea-like note.

Appearance: Pale gold color with frothy white head. Aroma: Strong herbaceous nose with hints of orange rind, bread, and marmalade. Body: A medium rich malt body with clean herbal bitterness. Texture: Smooth malt and citrus notes. Finish: Lingering malt taste with honey and marmalade notes.

Excited to try a new brewery with English styles.
Pours a fizzy frothy almost 2 finger head with fair retention, little lacing, very hazy rosy to reddish orange color

Nose fair fruity notes in the background not sure if hops or yeast esters, herbal tea and floral hops, getting into spicy green hops, some grapefruit and citrus, pithy rind, a bit of sweet malt, very faint buttery diacetyl which is OK for the style as well as the fruity ester yeast,

Taste starts very herbal peppery and a bit vegetal, green pepper, vegetal bordering DMS cooked vegetables and a bit too much, grassy herbal, a little citrus note more like the bitter rind, fair sweet malts, with a bit of caramel and toffee, toasted biscuity malt, light general fruity esters as well coming with a bit of stone fruit jam and citrus, getting into spicy mild green grassy hop late, lighter bitterness turning into a med spicy hop bitterness late

Mouth is med to a touch fuller bod, higher frothy carb, hint of warming alcohol

Overall pretty interesting, def more English and American style, a bit too much on the vegetal character and general spicy greenness, but otherwise pretty good, especially the malt and yeast additives
