This seasonal red ale is packed with Simcoe and Centennial hops. Huge flavors of pine, grapefruit, and tropical fruit with a touch of roasted malt character. Nine out of nine reindeers prefer this red ale.

A - Served a copper-red with a thin layer of white head atop. The head fades down fairly quickly leaving a touch of lace.
S - Aroma is a mix of sweet caramel malts with pine/earthy hops. There is also some richer bready malts as well in the background.
T - Starts off similar to the nose with sweet caramel bready malts with some pine/grassy hop and light bitterness. Through the middle, more bitterness comes through with some richer malt flavor. The finish is a mix of sweet bready malt with some pine and earthy hops and some bitterness.
M - Medium-full bodied with moderate carbonation. Feels smooth with a dry and bitter finish.
D - Very drinkable. Nice big red ale with a good amount of hops that balances the big malty backbone well.

On tap at Blue Palms
Look: Reddish brown in color with a 1/8 head and ok retention
Smell: Very floral on the nose with just a touch of caramel
Taste: Follows the nose almost to a T
Mouthfeel: Medium body and low carbonation
Overall: It is actually not a bad red ale definitely worth a shot

Winter seasonal on-tap at Toronado.
A: Dark reddish/brown. By the time I received it, no head, but there was decent lacing.
S: Floral and piney hops absolutely dominated the scent. I knew what to expect from this...
T: Very bitter, dry hops with a slight caramel malty presence. A very direct and to-the-point taste.
M: Medium bodied, decent carbonation.
D: Not something I plan to have again. Someone else ordered this and passed it onto me because it was too bitter for them to finish. I agreed with the bitterness comment, although it was definitely drinkable. Just not a complex flavor profile and not something I'd seek out unless I returned to Hophead Mode.

Winter seasonal on tap at Barclays in Oakland. Seemed to be a dry hopped-minimally filtered Red Ale. Poured a murky red/brown with a creamy medium sized head. Left nice lace. Strong floral hop nose. It was so perfumey I couldn't really smell much of anything else.
Taste was a mix of earthy sweet malt and a funky floral dry hop flavor. Some fruitiness and caramel were also present.
Medium bodied with a rich, if not rough mouthfeel. Good carbonation. Not bad, just a little different.
