Pint pour.
Very nearly black, good crown and lacing, but head doesn't last.
On the nose, slight dark malt, a caramel note, and a lot of coffee.
Taste has the understated malt backbone that I've come to expect from the style, with bready qualities. There's a nice roasted note, and again, a lot of coffee. Finish gives a touch of hops but mostly continues the coffee, it's reminiscent of espresso. Also, a mineral and saline touch, also common to others of this style I've tried.
Overall, greater than sum of parts
