Bottle was a 2006 GABF left-over that was given to me as a reward for my volunteer efforts. Thanks a million to GABF and to Triple Rock Brewing for the opportunity. Entered into judging in category #69B (American Barley Wine).
Pours a cloudy brown liquid with a dark tan cap that's thin. Smells of cheap vodka, cherries, chocolate. Tastes caramel, chocolate, smoked malt. Hop flavor is mild, but piney. Some esters play with the malt in the form of red soft fruits. Alcohol sting is in line, although a bit fusel. Md-thick body and mild carbonation. Decent.
