On-tap at the brewpub a couple of weeks after RBSG. This was brewed exclusively for the gathering, so I expect them to be putting their best foot forward. I didn't write down what the ABV was, but I think it might be in DIPA territory...
A: Pours a dark orange color with copper tones and a small off-white head (I seriously hate the way Triple Rock pours their shit). Some streaks of lacing down the glass.
S: WEED. Could barely pick out anything else -- some pine in there, and very light hints of pineapple.
T: WEED. Tons of herbal flavor with a slight juniper and pineapple touch to round it out. Malt is of the caramel variety with a nutty side to it, but it is very understated. The finish is a burst of floral activity with more weed. This is simply intended to be hop juice....
M: ....Still, it manages to avoid the lingering bitterness and resin that I consider a hallmark of mediocre IPAs. Medium-bodied, with good carbonation.
D: This was really good. I would have loved a second glass of this, but I moved on to the IMAXX.

RBSG09 on tap at the grand tasting. Pours dark gold with a lacy white head. Herbal, bright aroma, Simcoe? Just a little catty. Flavor is dry with a foral hoppiness and a resinous finish. Not much malt that I can detect. Surprising lack of bitterness.
