On tap at the brewpub pouring clear mahogany with thin nearly tan head. The mild aroma puts out some malt sweetness bleeding into ripe cherries and plums. The taste is a bit rough and raw but somehow still restrained. I get sweet thick malts, ripe bright cherries, plums and prunes to start. It then becomes a bit raisin like mixing with a malt sweet nuttiness. Into the finish the flavor picks up thin layers of pine hop bitterness too. Nice stuff that should become amazing with some cellar time to smooth it out.

Had this brew at the 2010 Toronado Barley Wine Festival.

Amber pour with a small off-white head. Hoppy grapefruit aroma with some malty undertones. The aroma reminds me of a DIPA. Very hoppy taste with grapefruit coming through at the swallow. Not sure this is truly a barley wine but nonetheless this was an excellent brew and one of my favorites of the day. Went down much too easy and multiples are a "can do".

The Triple Rock crew is becoming one of my favorites as their beers are top notch. Well done.
