Poured an amber red with decent clarity and an offwhite head that lingered for a decently long time. Classified on their board as an "English Pale Strong Ale" so make of the style what you will.
Nose was straight up bitter, with minimal citrus or malt to be smelled. A little bit of sweetness, but after that it was all crisp, palate cleansing hops.
Taste followed suit, with leafy, earthy hops carrying the beer the whole way through. Midway into the beer the malt makes itself heard a bit, with honey, sugary sweetness coming through, but then the hops take back over. It's unusual because I don't get any fruit or specific hop smell or taste from it. It is a bit tropical like mango if anything, but I'd not go that far.
Mouthfeel is nice, with a dry finish and excellent body and weight to go with it. The abv isn't too bad either, so this one is a nice session beer in my opinion.
