On-tap at Pizza Port Carlsbad
A: The pour on this one is amber in color with an off-white head.
S: Sweet is a good way to describe the nose. Despite the name, it's only moderately hoppy, and most of those hop notes are sweet. Lots of sugar, caramel, toffee, and even some brown sugar.
T: Sugar is probably the defining characteristic of the flavor, too. Sugar, toffee, and plenty of caramel. A moderate amount of floral hops and an insufficient bitterness. There is a bit of grass and fruity hop flavor which is mostly pineapple and grapefruit.
M: A bit heavy on the tongue with a medium level of carbonation.
O: Cloying would be a good way to describe this beer. Doesn't really live up to the hoppy part of its name.
