A - Served a dark black with a touch of brown mixed in and a half-finger of frothy chocolate head. The head fades fairly quickly leaving a touch of lace behind.
S - The aroma is a mix of roasted and slightly burnt chocolate malt with a bit of sweet lactose and sweet caramel. There is also a touch of dark fruit.
T - Starts off with some roasted and burnt chocolate and caramel malts with light milk sweetness and dark fruits. Through the middle some richer chocolate flavor comes though alongside some light coffee flavor. The finish is a mix of burnt malts, with some light sweetness and a touch of earthy hop.
M - Medium full bodied with moderate carbonation. Feels smooth with a dry and sweet finish.
D - Very drinkable. Really nice malt flavor with some some nice roasted and burnt flavors. Nice and big porter.

Tastes like a slightly soured red wine with burnt caramel. The stuff grows on you, though, and big chocolate malt and roasted grain flavors come through. Very low hop taste, considering the IBU listed at 31. Thick, viscous mouthfeel. Dark raisins. Not so much scorched sugar flavor but lots of deep dark malt. Pleasant sipping but strong. Black with modest head and carbonation.
