Had BTC, which among other things stands for Belhaven Town Center, where the Fertile Ground taproom is located, at the taproom on draft into willi becher.
Pours deep amber with clarity and 1-finger, creamy, very light-tan head, with decent retention, pulling nice lace down the glass. Aroma of grassy hops off pour, then some stone fruit and mild malt, with increasing pleasant hop aromas as warms. Begins crisp with sweet stone fruits, then nice hop bite, before some mild caramel malt slips in, and then growing crisp, fruity and spicy hops as warms, which carry into a crisp, still fruity finish.
On the dark end of the APA color spectrum, BTC starts a bit raw, but nicely balances and integrates multiple hop aromas and flavors as warms, so sip for best enjoyment.
