Had Fertile Ground's Festbier for Oktoberfest 2025 at the Fertile Ground taproom on draft into Willi Becher.
Pours medium gold with minimal to 1-finger near-white head, with decent retention, soon dropping to a partial film, and then completely out, leaving little to no lace. Aroma of mild hop spice and sweet malt off pour, then mild, neutral to moderately bitter herbals, with the hop spice aroma continuing as warms. On tasting, crisp, full mouthfeel to start, with a moderate amount of sweet malt and a smooth body, enlivened by a little mild hop spice, before a crisp, still malty finish.
A substantial mouthfeel, significant malt presence and persistent mild hop spice make this a very solid entry in the Festbier category.
