This is our Oktoberfest Märzen with smoked malt! Wonderful malty flavor with the perfect smoky addition.

Had Fertile Ground's Rauch-Märzen poured from pint can, bottom stamped "SMOKED MÄRZ" and (likely) canned on "10/02/25," into Willi Becher.
Pours amber-gold with clarity and 1-finger off-white head, which quickly dissipates to a thin ring, and leaves only specks of lace. Mild aromas of sweet malt, a little smoke and some tarter stone fruit off pour, joined by a little herbal tea aroma, with all continuing, and nicely balanced, as warms. On tasting, begins sweetly malty, with immediate, moderate smoke, which carries, dropping, into a still malty but drying, crispy herbal finish.
My first smoked märzen, Fertile Ground's effort deftly adds smoked malt to their apparently (I haven't had it yet) solid base märzen. This beer would be very good with brats.
