Purchased at the brewery in June 2022 and drunk that afternoon. Interesting fact: the brewery only sells takeaway beer in 640ml bottles, a very rare format in Australia. It's listed as an Australian Pale Ale, which is not an option on BA (yet...), so I chose American Pale Ale as the closest option.
L: Pours a bright, thick yellow with a bright, white head that recedes to a small thin rim. There's minor lacing.
N: Brown sugar, apricot, yeast.
T: Apricot, ripe stone fruit. Malt.
F: Soft body. Mildly carbonated.
O: This one is not as fruity and a little maltier than many Australian pale ales. It's a nice drinker but didn't have me reaching for another. That said, it was a holiday beer drunk quickly on the balcony of a hotel room before heading out to dinner, hence that comment and the paucity of description in the review. It certainly deserves more contemplation than it got, and if I'm in Cairns again and McAlister Brewing is still around, I'll definitely do so.
Cheers!

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
