One of my favorite breweries to visit in South Carolina. Outstanding beers made on site; multiple styles to choose from. Excellent food made on site. Old school rock on the speakers. Indoor and outdoor seating. Ample free public parking. Great artwork. A fire pit. A third floor roof top bar. A stage outside for live weekend music. I’ve been many times and will return.

This served as a civilized respite for us to run into as we crawled out from our swamp camp in the Congaree National Park. They have fairly good quality beer, a somewhat ridiculous tequila list, and food that seems way higher brow than we could have asked for, all committing us to a long afternoon.

Unfortunately, the variety of beers they had available was very small. While some were kicked without replacement, others stuck largely to IPA and fruited sour stylings. That said, what we had was of surprising quality for their young age.

The food we ordered--a wild boar shank and a lobster roll--was just absolutely excellent and seemed to punch above their weight in several ways.

The atmosphere almost gave me a clubhouse vibe in that it was both slightly upscale but also fairly rowdy. The sparsely seated wrap-around bar is accompanied by a few standing communal high top slabs, and that's about it. Outside there are several picnic tables, but it was damn near 100 degrees when we visited so everyone was crowded inside.

However, some polishing could be done regarding service and format, as they seem a little confused about what exactly they want to be. Particularly, when you only have two bartenders, it's a dubious decision to offer up extremely laborious craft cocktails. Putting together a cocktail that takes ten minutes when you have 50 guests is just a bad idea. Furthermore, having to leave your seat when it's essentially all bar seats in order to go outside to pick up your food is just bad form, especially in the South, and particularly since the food is served on literal ceramic plates that can actually be quite hot, AND that the door has to be pulled open from the outside. I felt a little stupid leaving a tip, to be honest.
