A full bodied, full tasting red ale. All malt and roasted grains with a slight bitter aftertaste. This delightful brew is named after John Peter Adlys the first generation of the Adlys family who purchased the Hotel in 1953.

Had at the brewpub. I liked this the best of their lineup. Perhaps as it was last, but it was the first brew here I could finish. The other beers I sipped and then pawned off on my workmates. Smoothest mouthfeel, with some drying bitterness at the end. Fruity. Cloudy orange colour.

Clear, medium amber served with a thin, off-white head that showed fair retention. Malt and brown sugar aroma didn't cover the cardboard character. Low bitterness with a bit of molasses flavour and a lingering sweetness. Light body with a slightly dry mouthfeel. Not a terrible offering, but it definitely has some problems.

Malt is the lead in the aroma, OK, you got me, malt IS the aroma. Malt is the lead in the flavor... guess what I'm gonna type next. Disappointing touch of watery nature in the mouthfeel, due to passive carbonation. Pleasant enough unidirectional flavor not all that interesting. Unsubtle, unremarkable, but it beats a Blue or a Labatts. Compared to a good red or an amber, it suffers. Aftertaste fades very quickly.

Taps pale copper color with a light head. Sweet malts mingled with the hops to produce a light fruity impression. Medium carbonation. Starts with a thin mouthfeel but delivers a nice chewy malt departure..hopps are more subdued than should be in a red ale..this is more like an english mild ale. Finish is decent with the malty sweetness turning nutty and a lingering biscuit after taste. Not bad at all...then I like malty beers,,,even if they are unidimensional.
