A nearly lost beer style, the Nurembourg-original Rotbier is making a resurgence in Germany's emerging craft beer scene. It's a red lager that was created in the 1500s in response to the popular light-colored wheat beers of the time. The Rotbier is malty, very lightly hopped, and light to medium in body.
