Acquired half of a 32 oz growler from the Free The Whales Festival in Charlotte on 7-1-23. Part of the benefits of being a volunteer!
Beer is black as night and it poured flat last night so giving some leeway given how the beer was handled.
Nose is great! Vanilla and Rye barrel forward with notes of cinnamon.
Taste is really nice as the large malt base picks up the barrel nicely ans the added vanilla acts to smooth the heat out. Not really nuanced at all but the combination leads to an enjoyable delicious sip. Finishes with a touch of rye heat.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied and smooth.
Overall a nicely done BA stout!
