Can purchased at Fattey Beer Company in Rochester, NY.
This one pours a very dark black color, with a small head, and a bit of lacing.
There’s a lot of coffee on this one – it’s a couple months old, but there’s no green pepper or vegetal aromas as well – this was clearly brewed well! There’s chocolate and caramelly coffee, some fruitiness, leather, and tons of dark chocolate, with some roasted malt.
This is really wonderful. The first iteration of Dark Bloom that I tried – one that had, if I recall, almond/cinnamon/vanilla – was not very successful. Grow has been getting better and better over time though, and this is the sort of coffee stout that I want. This is very vibrantly coffee-forward, but not a completely overwhelming coffee bomb, with a nice leathery, chocolatey, and caramelly coffee flavor, with some light fruitiness, and a really nice chocolatey soft base beer.
This is medium bodied, rich, and creamy, with a really nice drinkability.
This is highly enjoyable – I can’t stop nice saying nice things about this brewery.
