This black lager was brewed with floor-malted dark malts, debittered carafa, and carabohemian specialty malt and then double-decocted for a crisp, but medium-bodied dark crusher. Notes of charred marshmallow, pumpernickel, bohemian malts, and crisp noble hops.

Pours a deep dark mahogany with a tall coffee colored head.
Toffee malt, whole grain bread and earthy hops.
Toffee, nuts, toasted bread, plum and raisin very tasty and complex.

On tap at Fattey Beer Company in Rochester, NY.
This one pours a very dark black color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.
This smells like toasted pumpernickel bagel, grassy and herbal hops, some minerality, and chocolate.
The two dark lagers released by Grow so far have been super solid. This has a nice rustic malt character to it – somewhat rye like, and mostly pumpernickel, like a crusty dark bagel. There’s herbal and mineral-like bitterness, with a soft chocolatey finish.
This is very drinkable, with a smooth and clean finish.
There’s a lot to like with this one, dark lager is one of my favorite styles and this hit the spot for sure.
