Murky, muddy orange, with a decent white head with good retention. Smells like bitter herbal hops and some caramel. The taste is bitter and surprisingly smokey, with notes of wood, peated whiskey and plastic. So, no.

This was bier #2 that I sampled during a 30SEP14 visit to their Proeflokaal. A 0.33l draft serving cost €3.50.
The small tulip held a bier which was dark golden/orange in color. It was a smidge opaque, with a white head, fine and thin, with decent lacework. Some rauch notes came out right off, along with some malty sweetness. The body was somewhat less than medium, but it was still pretty smooth.
Some toasty malts and caramel hit the palate, along with dry, smoky notes. Some fruitiness was lingering below the surface, and it seemed even drier at the finish. An interesting concoction. Prosit!
