The last bier I tried at the Proeflokaal on 30SEP14 was Anjenette. Their blackboard simply listed it as 'barrel-aged". I asked what style, and was told it was a barleywine. My 0.33l glass on draft set me back €4.00.
The small chalice held a medium amber/chestnut libation. It was a bit hazy, with a rapidly thinning white head, a fine, thin layer. Lacing was on the good side. Had a mild nose, with some caramel and a hint of fruitiness, along with some woody notes. Body was medium-plus, and it was very smooth.
Flavor had a dash of sweetness and a pinch of fruityness. Then it was a bit funky, almost herbal or minty. It does have a woody, barrel aspect, but I couldn't nail down which type. A different, interesting bier. Prosit!!
