Warm reddish brown look. Close to no smell, smell that is present smells malty sweet. Tastes malty, light sweet and a little smokey. Low to medium carbonation, making it a quite easy drinker for such an ABV. Smooth (little creamy) beer with a smokey hint. Perfect beer for the winter.

I got this beer from one of the people who works at this brewery. The Prael has high expectations of this beer and after i have drank it i know why.
Poured in a Maredsous chalice the head disappears very fast. That a pity because that's what we like to see with beers; a nice big juicy head. The beer has a nice brown colour. The first sip gives you a nice impression of this beer. You can taste the sweetnes (but not too much), the caramel and some lindeblossom. Quit fruity.
With a better head the beer would had have a better review. Try this on when you are in Amsterdam.
(I got a mail two days later that the brewer had made a mistake. Normally this beer has to be stored for a while to let the beer come to rest and the head would become better. They forgot to do this. So with an onther bottle the review will be better)

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
