Small white head, leaves some big bubbles and islands. Nice lacing. Colour is pale yellow with an light orange hue, very clouded.

Smell: hmm, something that I can't quite put my finer on. Reminds me of some organic sweets my mothers used to buy. Corn syrup maybe? Some cooked grains, yeast and spices too.

Taste: typical yeast, a nice bitterness of yeast and hops working very well together. Some light citrus (lemon), subtle spices that are never overpowering. Later some more sweetness, bulghur grains and unrefined sugar. Some more bitterness in the aftertaste.

Mouth: medium, with quite a lot of carbonation. Coats the mouth, but also goes down well.

Overall: quite typical tripel, but very balanced, though it is a bit on the light side as well. Nothing offending here, but not outstanding either.

Purchased in my local supermarket today, reading about the history behind the abbey now, a classic tale of medeaval Christianity, with this traditional beer as a result.
Thanks to Brabander for mentioning their website in his review. One of the better beersites I've come across.
I'm very curious about the beer now.
'Brewed with different malts, hops, and lime tree blossom as aroma'.
Look: golden with a fluffy white head, a nice stream of bubbles.
Smell is very pleasant. Mild citric aroma, floral, obviously. Very balanced. Reminds me a lot of Chimay white (certainly some batches).
Taste is good and pronounced. Malts, certainly some good hop bitterness, citric and a spicy bite (not agressive though... more a 'love-bite').
The alcohol is well covered by the flavour. Medium body, and lingering in the mouth.
All in all, a high class tripel.
In fact, it's one of the best I've tried this year. Having this with some french bread and Corsendonck cheese.. The weekend is starting very nicely.
Well recommended.

This beer tells us about the last wonder of Adalbert, read all about it: www.sanctiadalberti.nl

The beer was poured in a triple Westmalle glas. A nice white head which stays for a long time. The beer is yellow like a triple should be. Good appearance in the glas with good carbonation. You can taste the fact that the beer has biological ingredients

The smell is good, you can sence some blossom they used and the yeast is noticable.

All in all a good new beer from the De Prael brewerie.
