Orange County Brewing Co. "Invisible Sun"
16 fl. oz. can without production codes or freshness dating
Notes via stream of consciousness: A hazy golden body rests gently beneath a short head of bright white foam. Only a few bubbles can be seen rising within. The aroma displays a sweet, grainy, and lightly grassy malt base with a hint of flowers, orange, and honey. Not surprisingly the flavor follows with little variation. It's floral but I can't pick out any specific flower, and mildly citrusy with orange and distant grapefruit. It's sweetish up front, and not really that bitter, but it does finish mainly dry in the end. A delicate bit of leafiness and dusty earth linger for a moment or so. in the mouth it's medium bodied and a little bit dextrinous leaving it quite smooth across the palate as the carbonation is moderate. Now I'm not sure if that's how this beer normally is as this is just a hand-labeled can and was probably done as a "crowler", but it works. The head of course dropped rather quickly without any bubbles from below to bolster it, and the lacing is limited to small spots and a few wider splashes. It's not a complicated beer, which is probably good for a summer beer, and I'm only assuming that that's what this is as I have no information on it, but I could drink this year 'round.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
