First beer from Farm Truck that I've had, as II picked it up at the Bottle King in Livingston a few months back. Love the label design, and the was this was presented made it seem like that it would be a bit rustic in nature. Sure enough, that was the case as the fruit patch, hops, and aroma all made this seem like it would be fitting for something outdoors - if wasn't a swamp like today!
Blonde with plenty of haze and murk to be had, this was topped off with more than enough foam as that settled down in typical fashion. Not a lot of lacing was let behind as the thin, wavy bands settled down the side of my pint glass and left a few spots behind. Loads of blueberry patch, turbid citrus, and deep tropical fruit in the nose as the taste was just as outdoorsy and heavy-handed. Full-bodied, sufficient in carbonation, and a bit rustic in undertone, this was a sufficient New England IPA that wasn't as soft and plush as highly-rated examples of the style. A bit of bread and grain stuck around in the aftertaste as this was just a bit cloying in the back, although that wasn't a deterrent.
Indeed, this felt strong and I could both taste and feel the booze as I worked my way through this - but it was on par with the overall profile of this beer. No date was on the bottom of the can but this felt fresh and didn't have any sediment at the bottom. Worth a go once to try something new from Jersey, as this did indeed turn out to be plenty dank!
