Tap pour at the taproom. Served chilled in a pint glass.
Clear, deep amber colored body. Off white head. Leaves behind extensive webs of lacing.
Aroma is faint, with a bit of grain malt and spicy hops.
Taste is much more expressive than the nose. Flavors of citrus orange and grapefruit, pine resin, and spicy rye. Evolving aftertaste seems to rotate all the flavors.
Medium mouthfeel. More spicy than bitter, but the pine does bring a bite.
Reminds me of a Cascadian Black Ale, but with the added rye spiciness and bite.
