Probably my favor Oktoberfest in the area, which, one would think (being the German Hill Country), would mean something (it doesn't really)

Appearance: Slightly hazy golden orange, with a small off-white head, which soon fades to scattered patches of foam.
Aroma: Rather malty, pleasant toasted notes, some caramel, and a bit of light fruit.
Taste: Opens with abundant toasted malt, some subtle fruit flavors, and a burst of hops, probably a noble type. As the taste progresses, the malt really shines, and the hops strike a nice balance. The close of the taste is graceful, with the hops and malt gradually subsiding.
Mouth feel: Smooth, soft, full, and very pleasant.
Drinkability/notes: A very nice example, quite to style.
Presentation: Packaged in a sixty-four ounce Dodging Duck growler, served in a New Belgium Brewing chalice.

The Dodging Duck's eighth year of brewing this bad boy.... perhaps near perfection. At front you taste some what of a tropical fruit combo... mango, kiwi, banana et al. After a bit, the hops make an announcement, "Okay we're up from our disco nap!!! What's the action?" I found an easy mix of German and Czech Hops. I'm gonna be bold and say this could be The Dodging Duck's cash cow for 2009. It's just a well-rounded beer. Super great!
And oh, the draft measured a 6.2 ABV as per the manager of the brewhaus...just sayin'.

Ducktoberfest is a very nice autumn-like deep orange color. Very quick appearance and then disappearance of a thin tan head. All that is left behind is a thin ring. No lace. Nice color.
Nose is sweet malt. A fruity aroma mingles with earth. Somewhat subdued.
The flavor follows closely with the nose. Tastes of fruity, sweet malt. Soft hop flavor (maybe a saaz hop). Nice earthy flavor in the finish.
Very round, slick mouthfeel. Very low carbonation. Nice drinkability. Another fresh, local well made brew.
