Appearance: Lots of carbonation and head retention. This beer goes on forever and leaves boo-coo lacing on the glass like a Belgian beer. It is very clear with a very slight orange tint to the golden color.
Aroma: There is noticeable spicy hops noticeable in the nose at first along with some toasty malt. The malts have a sweet almost buttery quality to them that reminds me of like a Maris Otter malt as being part of the grist.
Taste: Hops greet you at first with a spice and slight floral edge to them. The buttery toasty sweet malts then takes over and runs the show until the end. A little floral hops give the finish an edge, but it ultimately finishes clean with a balance slightly toward the sweetness.
Opinion: This beer is full bodied and a really "full" flavor for this style. This is a good thing, but a little unusual for me. It has a very nice flavor and I really enjoy the balance between the malt and hops in how the malt wins in the end. This was a very enjoyable beer to drink.
