I visited Living Häus a few weeks ago when visiting Portland with friends. They had 15 beers on tap when we visited, with a relatively strong emphasis on German styles and lower-alcohol styles: three Pilsners, helles, light lager, fruited Berliner weissbier, festbier, Kölsch, hefeweizen, mild ale, and a handful of pales and IPAs. My favorites were the dark mild and the Kölsch, but I thought the My Father's Pils was pretty darn good too. I definitely want to go back again to sample of more of their selection.
The space is a huge room with brick walls, tall ceilings, and a definite warehouse/industrial heritage (with brewhouse and fermenters in view), though they have made it a bit more organic with plants and things decorating the walls. It's a pretty congenial space; it's the old The Commons and Modern Time spot. We sat at the bar and service was friendly and efficient. Like I said, I'm definitely going to have to return to Living Häus!

modern simple interior, high ceiling warehouse type building but has some feeling. A dozen beers on tap - pils, helles, hazy IPA, threee WC IPAs, fruited sour, vienna lager, export lager, grodizskie, imperial stout, cerne pivo. So great selection of traditional styles. The two beers I drank were both pretty good. No food, but I recommend ordering takeout from Afuri Izakaya next door, their food was amazing.

This is the former Modern Times Portland space (and the Commons before that). They kept the clean, minimalist aesthetic, and at least at the time of my visit (October 2022) the space itself still felt like it was coming into its own. Great beers. No taster flights, but they offer small (10 oz) pours alongside full pints. Afuri is available.
