Drank at Hommelhof restaurant Watou, ate with the scampi salad
A - Pours a very nice inviting cloudy honeycomb colour reminiscent of a good weizenbock. The head is white and two fingered, it retains very well.
S - Bits of melon, hops and citrus.
T - A little sweet at the front followed by nice balanced hop notes with malt.
M - Medium body and low carbonation
O - This was a very enjoyable beer and a great example of the style.

Pours a lightly hazy yellow color, with a white head. In the aroma, mellow, sweet hops. In the taste, big pine like hops and a nice dry candy sugar that sneaks up in the end. A nice hop bite and medium bodied mouthfeel, with a small dry hop in the aftertaste. Hommel but bigger and more hops, love it.
As for it being retired, that is not true. Van Eecke only produces it for 't Hommelhof, and that is the only place you can have it.

Fine dense foamy head, hazy golden orange color. A nice appearance. I couldn't really get anything from the smell. The taste is fruity and dry. A sweet sour hoppiness, slightly iodated. , with hints of tart. Citrus, and a very nice balance between malts and hops. Mouthfeel is round. Refreshing and drinkable, but hard to describe.

Full golden, quite clear, with a white, soft foam.
The smell is full of fresh hop. Then some honey, some citric (grape fruit?). Candy sugar?
At the taste the hop is still the dominant note, fresh and full. It persistrs in the mouth for a very long time (maybe too long?).
Some citric, too.
Medium-light body.
Aftertaste: uhm, i'll say... Maybe... Ehm... BITTER. But very bitter! Maybe too much, it can annoy, after a while.
Do I have already said that it is bitter?
