This ale is Poperings Hommelbier brewed with fresh hops. This results in more bitterness, but also in a more pronounced hoppy aroma. 6 months after bottling, the bitterness gets a more round character which makes the Hommel Fresh Harvest even better.

Copenhagen 26/3 2018. 75 cl bottle from Ølhandleren in Hørning (web-shop). "As Poperings Hommelbier Limited Edition 2017". Outline of a very big Hop printed directly on the bottle.
Pours hazy opaque golden yellow with a very big white head. Settles as a 5 cm thick fat blanket of foam. Substantial lacing.
Aroma is not particularly strong. Sweet malts and some fruitiness. Light notes of caramel. Bitter, dusty notes.
Medium strong carbonation - prickly - and slightly thick texture.
Flavor is medium sweet followed by a very strong slightly rough bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter. Finish is semi-dry.
Strong and bitter Belgian - a bit rough around the edges - but refreshing and easy to drink.
