Smoked Schwarzbier

16 ounce draft pour into a weizen glass at the brewery.

L: Dark brown and clear with root beer brown highlights, white 1/2” head, creamy foam recedes to a solid persistent collar in a few minutes, lively in the glass.
S: Caramel malts and smoked meat.
T: Subtle smoked malt makes for a fuller flavor Schwartzbier, roasty and a little sweet, smoked character rises in the middle and runs to the finish.
F:Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, smooth and frothy with an edgy finish.
O: Great smoked beer, strength of smoke character is in the medium range, wish I could have a second.

Cask pour at the brewpub. Gorgeous dark brown with an inch of off-white foam. Smoky malt flavor with a bit of roasted taste and little hop presence. A terrific lager. Could spend all afternoon with this one.
