I had to come back and review this beer. The first time I had this beer I was absolutely disgusted. But I frequent the brew house which serves the Concord Brewing beers and decided to give it another shot. This offering pours a cloudy bright yellow leaving a thin white lace across the glass. The aroma is lemon, wheat, citrus and spice abound. The taste is malty upfront, sweet, doughy, light tartness on the palate and great overall finish. This is a far cry from the previous version I tasted at the brew house almost a year ago. I hope the last version was an anomaly and this is the "real" version.

Served on-tap at Sunset Bar & Grill with my dinner on March 13. Appearance was a watered down lemon juice with carbonation. big fluffy white head that vanshed almost as soon as the beer arrived. Nose was full of a wet wheat aroma and just slight hints of lemon--but more of a lemon juice that you squeeze out of one of those little plastic lemons. Flavor was very disappointing. Lots of wheat but not much flavor to it. Nothing in the way of yeast or any spices. Just a slight bit of off-flavored lemon too. Texture was rather "wet"--if dust could take on liquid form this is what ti would feel like. Just a very bland, boring example of the style.

On tap @ Sunset Grill

Thin lacing with a could beige tannish hue. Lemon orange zest with corriander and yeast in the nose ... mildly soapy aroma. Watery palate with a soapy bland start, some spicing and wheat crispness. More soap ... slightly maltiness shows off in the end.

This is not my bag baby, just not up to snuff as a beer let alone a Belgian Style Wit.

On tap at the Sunset.
Pale gold with a light haze, thin head dissapated.
Pungent nose with an unusaul aroma.
Loads of earthy cumin and some menthol, perhaps from cardamon. Finishes with schezuan peppercorns and spearmint gum wrapper.
Mildly stinging on the pallet, aggressive spicing finishing oddly watery and fades quickly.
Belgian character and refreshing wheat overwhelmed by too much of unusual spice.
