No idea what a Milkshake IPA is, I guess I will find out soon. I was very impressed with Underwoods other offerings so far. Contains 3 grains, lactose and mango puree. Wow. Lactose?
Looks a bit like tropical jiuice...with a head. Which dies down fast. Surprisingly bitter aroma with hints of mango.
The milk/lactose isn't particularly prominent in the flavour, though it does have a slight creaminess. Really well balanced and the mango is very much balanced by the different malts and the mango. Though it's a bit too dry and bitter and somehow lacks life...it needs natural tropical fruits from the hops like a quality American West Coast IPA, for me it is cheating a bit to add mango puree and it also creates a kind of confused taste result. Mouth feel isn't as good as the American IPA and Helles, and I'm not sure that the wheat and oats match with the lactose and mango. For me tropical fruits are very much best with light barley malt.
Generally I prefer beers with only barley malt, yeast and hops...this is a perfect example why. It really doesn't taste natural or like a beer even ; )

Copenhagen 18/2 2023. 33 cl can from DrikBeer web-shop. Yellow can fading into red with Underwood simple black and white logo.
Pours unclear - almost hazy - golden amber with a mid-sized white head. Stable. Settles as 2 cm thick layer of foam covering the surface of the beer. Substantial lacing.
Aroma is medium intense with a sweet, sugared scent of ice cream and tropical fruits. Ripe mango - slightly fermented and peach. Strawberry ice cream. Lactose.
Light carbonation. Medium thick, oily, soft, smooth, creamy, slightly viscous texture.
Flavor is medium intense with a rather strong sweetness followed by a more moderate bitterness Aftertaste is sweetish with a light bitter undertone. Lingers for a bit. Finish is soft.
Not a bad take on a soft, smooth ice cream jammed into a beer glass.

On tap at Cardinal, Stavanger. Hazy dirty yellow colour, white head. Aroma of mango and lactose. The flavour has a slight fruity acidity from the mango, fairly distinct bitterness.
