Dark orange-amber with off-white foam in the Piraat tulip. This is quite pleasantly roasted-tasting. Clean and grainy rather than nuttty. Just a touch of malty sweetness along with the malt flavor. Not as dark or charred tasting as most other dark beers. The hops are vegetal but not very flavorful, and the aftertaste has just enough bitterness. Overall this is a decent flavorful brew. If only it was on tap at the pizza place. From the 16 oz can, not dated.
