Poured from a bottle at fridge temp. Pours a very dark brown with a tiny layer of light brown head. The nose is bloody amazing. The amburana comes through immediately, which makes me very happy as I LOVE amburana wood. Cinnamon, bourbon, toffee, maple, clove, and vanilla.
The taste is incredible. As with the nose, the amburana punches first. Huge notes of fig, toffee, cinnamon roll (from the amburana), bourbon, vanilla, raisins, brown sugar, and a bit of chocolate. Wow.
There are a few amazing things about this beer. First, it's a munichwine but it isn't too sweet (not even close). The intensity and breadth of flavor that came without any adjuncts is amazing. The mouthfeel is medium bodied and the aftertaste is a cinnamon/bourbon mix. Just a lovely beer. I am blown away right now.
