Pulled this one from the fridge and let it sit out for 20 minutes before opening. Pours a very thick black with zero head. The nose is wonderful. The amburana is there immediately, which makes me so happy as I LOVE amburana wood. Coconut, coffee, chocolate, vanilla, and bourbon also come through. Dark fruit emerges after a minute, with notes of cherries and plums.
The taste is insanely smooth. Milk chocolate, toffee, rum, coconut, vanilla, amburana, soft coffee notes, tobacco, bitter oak, port, molasses, pie crust, herbal tea, and a hint of black licorice. The bourbon is definitely there - I can almost recognize the Blanton's barrels if I squint.
The mouthfeel is thick and creamy. Nice long aftertaste and finishes with salted toffee. Overall, a banger of a stout.
