Blurring the line between beer and wine. Nevin's Blind Eye is a year old, oak-aged wild ale blended with 150 pounds of Italian Merlot grapes in an open top fouder. Beautiful deep purplish red body with a light pink foam. Balanced funk with a strong oak backbone. Flavors of grapes, black cherries, and plums with a balancing acidity.

Poured from a bomber into a Dogfish Head tulip
L: Nearly clear burgundy pour. Looks like a light red wine with 1.5 fingers of white fizzy head. Decent ring of lacing.
S: Vinous... tart, red wine, and oak.
T.F: Strong red wine flavor. Tart and a bit funky but not overly sour. Oak, grape, dark cherry, and plum. Fruity... a bit of spice and lemon peel. Modest acidity. Medium to light bodied... effervescent carbonation. Complex... dry finish.
O: A very tasty and interesting take on a red-wine barrel aged wild ale. Dry and flavorful... enjoyable brew.
