A lightly fruity beer with firm, grainy maltiness, interesting toasty and caramel flavors. Brewed with malt from Deer Creek Malthouse. Named for Samuel Shaeff, an engineer from Easton who built the Alfred Thomas, the last steamboat to attempt to navigate the upper Delaware River. Unfortunately, the boiler of the Alfred Thomas exploded on its maiden run, ending the dream of steamboat travel on the upper Delaware River.
