From the brewery: The malt bill consists of Pilsner, Munich, Custom Smoked Alder malt all sourced from Deer Creek Malthouse. This beer was brewed in Collaboration with Head Brewer of Fegley's Brew Works; Josh Bushey. Delicate malt undertones with notes of smoked alder, and spicy rye bread. Finishes dry. Perfect for those Sunshine BBQ days ahead.

On draft at the brewpub. Served in a shaker pint glass. Look is slightly hazed light gold color with a nice white head that falls to a thin cover. Some lacing left behind. Smell is campfire smoke, not too aggressive though. Also getting some bready malt too. Taste starts out with the smoke up front. This then blends well with the rye bread malt. It's coming off sweet up front but with a hit of bitterness towards the end. Finish is a nice mix of lighter smoke and rye. Feel is medium bodied with light carbonation. There's a bit of a slick tongue feel here too. Overall, a very pleasant smoked beer that isn't as assertive as a rauchbier. The rye adds something very nice to the mix too. There's a lot going on here and the flavors play nice together.
